DJSteen USA Tour 2008

There's a few questions I have about the technical equipment I'll need/want when I'm in America.

Lifecasting
What would be the smallest and easiest setup for lifecasting? I suppose it would be a similar setup to what Justine has/had; tiny laptop (is there anything better/cheaper than a Vaio?) with EVDO/3G and a long-life battery.
UPDATE: Depending on specs/price, this little HP might be nifty..

Portable devices
I just found out that the 3G iPhone will be in Australia before I leave for America, so I'll definitely be picking up one of them.
If I can't get the Nokia N810 in Australia before I leave, then I'll probably get one while I'm in America.

I'll be getting a MacBook Pro before I leave. This, along with my SLR and a few lenses will mean I won't have much room for anything else. Thus is why I'd like some advice on small things.

Video cameras
I've been looking to get a new high-def video camera that records to hard drive and/or SD card. The JVC GZ-HD6 looks awesome (firewire, Full HD, 3CCD, USB, HDMI, etc), but Justine has been having a lot of trouble with hers and this makes be wiry. Plus, it's a little pricey, right now.
For portability, I wouldn't mind the waterproof Sanyo E1, but it isn't HD, and I'm not sure whether I'll be doing much underwater filming.. (would be fun, though!)
I've always used Sony Camcorders, and they've always treated me well, but I feel there's cheaper and better options out there now. What do you think?
